Catherine and Peter's story began long before they ever imagined it would lead to marriage.
They first met as children at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, where they attended Việt Ngữ (Vietnamese language) classes and grew up together in Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể (Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement). Together, they received their First Communion and Confirmation and spent many years learning, serving, and growing in their faith. Because of these early years, St. Anthony's will always hold a special place in their hearts as the place where their story quietly began.
Although they grew up together, their lives followed different paths for many years. Catherine was actually friends with Peter's older sister first, and while they shared the same church community, they were never especially close. It was not until halfway through college that their paths crossed again. In October 2022, they reconnected, began spending time together, and quickly realized how much they had in common and how much they enjoyed spending their time together.
On November 14, 2022, Peter asked Catherine to be his girlfriend. Three years later, on that same date he asked her to marry him. And now, on November 14, 2026, they will begin their forever together... clearly November 14 is their lucky day.
Over the years, they have shared countless milestones: studying and graduating college side by side, growing in their faith as youth leaders in TNTT/VEYM (both serving as treasurers), traveling together, beginning their careers, and building a life rooted in faith, love, and friendship.
From childhood friends to lifelong partners, their journey is one of patience, timing, and God's quiet guidance. Catherine and Peter are grateful for the path that led them back to one another and are excited to begin this next chapter surrounded by family and friends who have been part of their story from the very beginning.
